Covid- safe venues London: updates

Now that things are starting to return to normal with London easing out of lockdown, we are all excited to start hosting and attending events again in the capital. While we are excited, it is important to host and attend events in London safely. The Greater London Authority has published guidelines for events in London to ensure that there are covid secure venues during covid.

The government has prepared a roadmap out of lockdown, and so far all is going according to plan. The UK now has one of the highest COVID-19 vaccination rates in the world, with almost 28 million people receiving at least their first dose of the vaccine. The rest of the adult population, outside of priority groups, is planned to be offered their first dose by the end of July. This means many people will be fully vaccinated by the summer, so things are looking up for the events and hospitality industries.

Covid venue safety

We should all be reassured of the safety of venues during covid, as the government’s Events Research Programme is busily preparing for events to begin again. The Events Research Programme will be using innovative methods to prevent coronavirus from spreading, such as experimental layouts, improved ventilation, and the use of rapid lateral flow tests before and after events. Venues are being opened with social distancing measures in place to ensure that we can get back attending the events we love as soon as possible.
